"Never doubted him, never will."

"You're wrong."

Two sides of the same coin -- trust and doubt.  They come home to roost in Jack and the Doctor all the time.  It's hardly surprising, given everything about their relationship.  Given who they are, really.

Consider:  Jack worked for Torchwood, the ultimate betrayal -- but he did it so he could reinvent it in the Doctor's honor, a statement of bone-deep loyalty.

Consider:  The Doctor fled Jack on the Game Station.  And yet, wrong though Jack is, Ten still stops to look after him before he regenerates.

And THEN consider:  Nine sent Rose away and let Jack stay, knowing Jack would almost certainly die.  And Jack's response?  A clear avowal of continued loyalty, one soldier to another.

Loyalty and betrayal -- you voted, and I'm excited, because it's deep and meaty and it's our theme for the next two months.  The Loyalty and Betrayal Challenge is open for business and will be until June 30!

A few gentle reminders:

1.  Summer/Winter Holidays is just around the corner.  We'll be looking for participants in late May, so keep your eyes open.

2.  We now have a resource post for those looking for betas -- and those willing to volunteer.  If you can't write for this challenge, maybe you can help out someone who can!
3.  Please don't crosspost stories for this challenge elsewhere until the challenge closes.
4.  Leave a comment in THIS post and tell us what you think the next challenge should be, so we can put it to the vote!
