As we wend our way through autumn (or spring, if you're in parts more southerly), the clock is ticking towards the 50th Anniversary Special -- and we all have our predictions about what we're going to see. Which got us thinking, as we considered this season's fest, that it would be fun to open the comm up for a prompt fest again.
After all, there's so much we WANT to see -- and only so much we'll get on screen!
The rules are simple.
Phase 1: Prompts
From now until
October 20th, midnight GMT (
when is that?) we'll be collecting prompts for the fest
on this post. Leave a comment here with the fic you've been wishing for -- whether it's a sentence or a word, an item or a quote, or a particular Doctor/Jack pairing or point in time, or even a particular scenario you'd like to see, anything goes. All we ask is that you keep prompts under 50 words -- inspire people, don't do their writing for them!
On
October 21st, we'll post the complete prompt list to the comm, and then it's time for...
Phase 2: Writing/creating
Pick a prompt! Any prompt! Or multiple prompts! And comment to claim it.
You can claim any time after October 16th and before November 1st. If you sign up right at the start, that means you have a month - but you can also come in later and join in. (Or earlier - nothing's stopping you from starting to write/vid/whatever as soon as you see a prompt you like!) Whenever you want, just comment to claim your prompt. Or a second prompt, or a third one! Write or create as many entries as you like.
And no worries:
- First, more than one person can use the same prompt.
- Second, we promise not to hunt you down if life gets in the way of completing your fanwork -- we just want to keep track of who's interested in playing.
- Third, there's no length or size or type-of-fanwork requirement - from drabble to epic, from icons to wallpaper to painting, it's all good. (And kudos to you if you can manage an epic within a month. *g*)
- Fourth, absolutely anything goes, so long as it involves Doctor/Jack. No other restrictions, apart from common sense. (Which is to say - no character bashing, please!)
When you're done, it's on to...
Phase 3: Posting
Post your work any time after October 21st and before November 30th.
As always, we ask that you please don't crosspost while the fest runs, but you're be free to repost it in your own space afterwards. (And of course feel free to crosspost announcements now! The more people you can bring here, the better. Who knows, they may even decide to join in. :D)
Please include the following header info when you post to the comm:
Title:
Author/Artist/Vidder/...:
Challenge: 2010 Doctor/Jack Fest

Rating:

Summary:
Please use the following format for your subject line:

When you post your entry, please tag your story with the "2013 promptfest" tag and any other appropriate tags from the list. (You can find the full list of tags in the sidebar.)
On November 30th, we'll post a masterlist of all entries submitted.
Any more questions? Leave us a comment here! And if you're all set, comment below with your prompts! And don't forget to pimp this fest - the more people join in, the better!
