The walls have closed. We've called our boys home from their wanderings - but what if they don't quite make it home? The TARDIS can be a fickle thing, and Jack's teleport - well, it's been turned on and off so may times, who's to say it won't suddenly decide to give up the ghost. It's the space-time equivalent of a flat tire, only who knows where and when you'll get stuck?
Desert islands. Strange hotels in the middle of nowhere, with nary a mechanic in sight. Remote mountain tops. New planets, with the TARDIS translation circuit on the fritz. Centuries ahead of their time - or centuries behind it - or really, for the Doctor, stuck on the slow path in any single century at all.
Strand them alone, and see how they cope. Strand them together and see how long it takes them to argue over the proper way to change a tire (or the TARDIS-equivalent). Strand them separately and watch them do what it takes to find each other again, or have one strand the other, and see who cracks first.
This month, the Doctor and Jack end up
Lost - or just plain lost. Strand them somewhere, anywhere, and show us just how resourceful they can be. (Jack is just
full of resources. You'd be
amazed what he can do with some lubricant and a tool belt.
Hey - get those minds out of the gutter!)
