ADMIN: Autumn Prompt Fest Prompt List

And away we go! The prompts are in, and we've put them all together below.   Next up, write/create and post!  As a quick reminder, you can find the rules for claiming and posting right here.

Most importantly:  You can claim anytime, right up until the bitter end -- the Fest closes November 30.  Also,

• First, more than one person can use the same prompt.


• Second, we promise not to hunt you down if life gets in the way of completing your fanwork -- we just want to keep track of who's interested in playing.


• Third, there's no length or size or type-of-fanwork requirement - from drabble to epic, from icons to wallpaper to painting, it's all good. (And kudos to you if you can manage an epic within a month. *g*)


• Fourth, absolutely anything goes, so long as it involves Doctor/Jack. No other restrictions, apart from common sense. (Which is to say - no character bashing, please!)

1. The Doctor didn't run from Jack because he was freaked out by Jack's immortality. He ran because while taking the Vortex from Rose, he caught a glimpse into Jack's future--and something in that future terrified him.


2. Jack after Children of Earth running into a past Doctor (3, 4, 5, or 8 pre-war please) Jack is hurting, but can't help falling for the Doctor all over again. Will Jack tell the Doctor that he already knows him? Will Jack tell him about the Time War? Will Jack have to ret-con the Doctor?


3. Ten/Jack, based on a quote from xxxHolic: "There is no such thing as a coincidence, there is only the inevitable."


4. It is something like a tradition for Jack to measure time in “Doctor” instead of years.


5. The Doctor met Jack in the future - an unpleasant experience. He is afraid of what Jack will become. Jack is afraid of being left behind again.


6. A companion knows Jack from his/her past.


7. The Doctor fears Jack is becoming too much like him.


8. Meeting out of order.


9. Rewriting time.


10. Stuck in a time loop.


11. Jack cooks for the Doctor.


12. Accidental marriage.


13. Jack and River Song compete for the Doctor's attention.


14. Eleven has just lost River for good, (episode: The Name of the Doctor) and seeks comfort in Jack's arms.


15. Nine has just blown up his planet, but instead of Rose, he meets Jack first.


16. Jack is a Time Lord that defies his too strict society and becomes a traveling playboy out for adventure (so he's Jack in the early years) when he runs into a very unconventional Time Agent code named "The Doctor." Doctor of your choice.


17. Ten and Jack find themselves on Japanese superheroes TV series set.


18. The Doctor reminisces about Susan.


19. Ten/Jack. Harem.


20. Ten's licking habit.


21. Jack gets food poisoning from something the Doctor made and Ten feels guilty and looks after him.


22. Why Jack wasn't invited to Demons Run.


23. The Doctor finally realizes he and Jack belong together--but for a completely unexpected reason. In other words, show why they're a match for each other without resorting to the obvious "the Doctor needs someone who won't die on him" or "Jack can seduce anyone he wants and he thinks the Doctor's hot." Try to give us one we haven't heard before. (Unsupported headcanon is entirely acceptable.)


24. "There's a fine line between love and hate." When they next meet up, one of them violently hates the other. Is it real--or is it a trope?


25. The two reminisce about their children and discuss having a child of their own.


26. The Doctor reads some smut and decides they need a little kink in their love play.


27. Ten, who's always had a strained relationship with Jack, meets a future version of himself and is discomfited to learn that Jack will eventually succeed in seducing him.


28. Instead of Torchwood, Jack has something different to tell in this exchange (work or something else): JACK: Since we're telling stories, there's something I haven't told you. DOCTOR: You __ ____." (Sound of Drums).


29. Jack shows the Doctor something about how indomitable he is, from this line of the Doctor's: "End of the universe and here you are. Indomitable! That's the word. Indomitable! Ha!" (Utopia).


30. Jack, Doctor, a cliff, and an underwater city.


31. In The Parting of the Ways, what if Jack had reached the TARDIS before it left?


32. What if Eleven had crash-landed in front of Jack rather than in Amelia's garden?


33. Ten and Jack get stuck on the slow path together.


34. Timey-wimey fic in which Jack knows what's going to happen to the Doctor next, but won't tell. (Up to you if it's something good or bad!)


35. The Doctor meets far-future Jack (who is NOT the Face of Boe) and tries to cope with Jack being that much older than him and having lived through that much more.


36. When Eleven thinks he's going to die at Lake Silencio, he goes to say good-bye to Jack.


37. Jack and two Doctors. I don't care which or why.

Sorry I just got back from hiatus and am late to the game. I read over everything but I still have a question (and I am probably being silly and missed it somewhere). Do we claim prompts? If so what's the deal with that since this is a laid back sort of fest?

All that's meant by "claiming" a prompt is leaving a comment to say we plan to write (or do something with) it. You can claim one that's already been claimed, and the mods have promised not to hunt us down if we don't finish by the deadline. (Nice mods...) So yes, very laid back, basically the equivalent of "Hey, I'm interested in this one."

I would like to claim prompt #1. But just for fair warning I can't make any promises I will actually be motivated to post it because I don't have a computer at the moment so I would have to write it out on my phone, which is a pain. But I really like that prompt so I think I can manage it.
