Where did July go? It seems to have flown by - it's almost as if it was just yesterday that we started posting entries for our third Summer/Winter Holidays fest! And now it's already over - or in other words, the Summer Holidays 3 challenge is now closed.

Thanks again to everyone who joined in! We hope everyone had as much fun with it as we did. As usual, you can find all the entries under the challenge: summer holidays 3 tag, or just click here - but since this was a special event, have a full roundup of all fest entries right here!

Holidays are over; time to get serious again. So let's come to the most serious topic of them all: death. If you're watching the current series of Torchwood, you'll know what inspired this prompt - but Miracle Day or no, both our boys do have their own special relationship with death.

Jack as we know him can't die. Or rather, he will die, again and again and again, without end, slipping through death's grasp every time. Whereas the Doctor doesn't die like humans do - he regenerates instead. And he can only do it so many times, can't he?

How do our heroes deal? How do they deal with each other? How do they cope with the death they witness in their long lives? Give us Jack and the Doctor, and Death in any version. Final, not so final, witnessed or experienced, or hell, even Death from Discworld coming for a visit. (He should be a good mate of Jack's by now. *g*) Give us the Doctor's reaction to Miracle Day. Give us Jack coping - or not. Anything you can think of - go to town!

In other words, welcome to the Death Challenge!

As a gentle reminder, please don't crosspost stories for this challenge elsewhere until the challenge closes about one month from now. And don't forget - leave a comment on THIS post and tell us what you think the next challenge should be!
