Summer may have just begun (or at least it seems like it here!), but our Super-Sekrit Summer Special has come to an end. Time to return to the normal challenge format here, and perhaps also time for our heroes to return to some sort of normality after everything we've put them through (and that canon put them through) this month.

In other words: the Summer Holidays challenge is now closed.

Thanks again to everyone who volunteered, and I hope you all had fun with the fest. :)

As usual, you can find all the entries under the challenge: summer holidays tag, or just click here - but since this was a special event, have a full roundup of all 27 fest entries right here! Some of them may have got a bit lost among the Torchwood: Children of Earth frenzy earlier, so it's definitely worth checking the list again:

Last month was a Special Event; this month, we're returning to normal. But what's normal for our heroes? A alien and a human who might as well be one as well by this point. Let's focus on that alienness for a bit:

Welcome to the Alien Challenge!

The Doctor: He's a Time Lord. He may look human, but his body's not. His culture is not. His mind is not. He's alien, ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of Time and he can feel the turn of the universe.

Captain Jack Harkness: He may have been born human, but he's become something so alien even a Time Lord balked. He's human-but-not, an impossible Fact, incapable of dying, possibly even unto the end of the universe. So very alien, but still human at the heart.

And that's just the two of them on their own! How about all the ways they're alien to each other, now or before? How meeting exciting aliens, somewhere out there on their travels or right here on Earth? Think about alien life forms, alien places, alien minds. Take up the challenge!

As a gentle reminder, please don't crosspost stories for this challenge elsewhere until the challenge closes about one month from now. And don't forget - leave a comment in THIS post and tell us what you think the next challenge should be!
