Pride goeth before a fall, they say - although really, the only "fall" to be had is the close of the challenge. Pride's had its chance - time to let a few more humble individuals take the stage. (Although when you see what we have lined up for July, you'll be proud to share a comm with the folks who chipped in to make it happen!) We're halfway through the year, but we're nowhere near through the list of fantastic prompts you all have been submitting for Jack and the Doctor. Clearly, something had to be done. So we present:

THE SUMMER (or Winter) HOLIDAYS CHALLENGE

We looked at all the outstanding prompts and realized they all offered enormous potential. So this month, we're opening them all up, to all comers! All of the prompts were sorted into fifteen groupings - and then fifteen of you graciously volunteered to write 500 or more words, just to prove that the potential is, in a word, fantastic.

We'll be showcasing these fics over the course of this month - every one of our fifteen volunteers deserves a chance in the spotlight, so we'll post a new fic every other day. But while you're applauding their efforts, we hope you'll offer some of your own. The prompt groups are listed below, and they're all open for the taking. They run the gamut, and so, we hope will your responses. It's the holidays, after all - time to kick off your shoes, pick up your pencil (or pen, or keyboard, or what have you), and let your imagination run wild!
