CHALLENGE: Domesticity

Now that we've got all those old WIPs and ideas for previous challenges out of the way, we thought we'd give you a real challenge for the New Year. And what would be harder than this?

We proudly present our first 2009 challenge: the Domesticity Challenge!

Not only difficult to do well (ahem, not that that'll stop me from trying!), can you imagine two characters who'd find that kind of thing harder than Jack and the Doctor? You've got your work cut out for you, writers and artists and vidders! Give our boys something truly unusual to do - a true challenge the likes of which they've likely never faced! :D

We'd also like to put out a suggestion - tomorrow we'll finally get to hear who will be the eleventh Doctor. So why not try and speculate on just how that actor might play the Doctor? Who knows, he (or she!) might find domesticity easier than his (or her) previous incarnations. (Then again, not bloody likely. *g*)

As a gentle reminder, please don't crosspost stories for this challenge elsewhere until the challenge closes about one month from now. And don't forget - leave a comment in THIS post and tell us what you think the next challenge should be!

I have a question. I've considered offering to run a Jack/Doctor fest. Since I know that was what this comm was originally created for, I wanted to run it by you mods first. I wouldn't necessarily need to use this comm for it, if you'd rather keep the challenges going at the same time, but I'm rather new to the fandom and would like to avoid stepping on anyone's toes!

On the other hand, a co-mod and/or permission to pimp the fest through this comm would be most welcome.

Okay, I've talked to wojelah now. A Jack/Doctor fest would be fun, and we're definitely in favour of it, but we'd rather keep this comm going as it is for now. Thanks for asking, though, and if you're running it elsewhere we'd definitely be happy to let you pimp it here! Best of luck with the fest. :-)

What about a "hot and cold" theme for the next challenge? It could be taken metaphorically - the Doctor's attitude towards Jack, for instance - or literally: hot planets, cold planets, etc.

Oh, great idea! I love it, and I'll definitely add that one to the list. It may be a while till we get to it, though - we've got a few other suggestions lined up already. Almost a shame! ;-)
