CHALLENGE: Are You Feeling Lucky?

Happy March - it's a month of transitions and four-leaf clovers and green beer (sometimes) and change is generally in the air. It's Luck's favorite season, and clearly the Doctor and Jack are two of the luckiest sods around. (Hey, dumb luck counts!)

So have at it: The Luck Challenge!

Are the dice loaded? (Of course they are - Jack ought to know, he used to be the one loading them.) Does the fate of the universe hang on the toss of a coin? (Pfft. The Doctor's been there, done that.) What is it about the intersection of the lonely traveller and the man who can't die that just smacks of a one-in-a-million chance?

Chance, fate, coincidence, serendipity - call it what you will, but one thing's for sure - Lady Luck's got a heck of a crush on our favorite pair. (Although Jack's pretty sure Luck ain't no lady, not the way she treats him - or maybe he's confusing her with the casino waitress on Vega Three - sometimes it can be hard to tell.)

As a gentle reminder, please don't crosspost stories for this challenge to other comms until the challenge closes. (Which, as usual, will be about one month from now.) And don't forget - leave a comment in THIS post and tell us what you think the next challenge should be!

In the meantime, get writing! Because it all boils down to one question, in the end, for Jack and the Doctor, in all of their adventures through time (and space!):

Hope this hasn't been suggested before: Enemies! The Doctor and Jack both have plenty of those. Also, what would happen if for some reason they became enemies to each other? What would push them that far and how would it end?

What about language? How many do Jack and the Doctor know? What if the the TARDIS malfunctions and stops psychically translating?

Oh and um, I just posted a response to the luck challenge and realized I made a typo in the header - misspelling my username. Doh! Would you mind fixing that for me?

As for editing the header, you're the only person who has authority to edit your posts, even if they're to a comm, not your LJ. So you should be able to open the post up for editing (the LJ FAQ has directions on how to do this if you're not sure) and fix it; much as we'd be happy to, we can't.

How about... mythology? The Doctor is the Oncoming Storm, and Jack is an Impossible Thing. What kind of myths are there about them? Have they participated in some of Earth's ancient mythology? I could totally see Jack stealing some golden apples or the Doctor inspiring a trickster myth.)
