“The entire moon is a wildlife reserve,” the Doctor had said, excited about visiting. “Come on, Jack, it’ll be grand!”

Now as they were running for their lives through long grass, Jack would’ve liked to say, “Grand, you promised. A chance to see wildlife from a dozen different worlds.” While that wasn’t Jack’s idea of a great time, it was the Doctor’s and he’d gone along.  “Grand my ass. Next time, I’m picking.”

But he couldn’t say anything, because he needed all his breath to race back to the TARDIS ahead of a pride of lions intent on devouring them.

But honestly, soon, when Jack's back at Torchwood, he'll remember this day with nostalgia and think what a great time he had running from lions with the Doctor.
