Matchmaker
Now that Clara had found love for herself, she really wanted the Doctor to be as happy as she was. Because of her choice to jump into the Doctor’s time stream in order to save him, she knew a lot about him. She knew how much he had lost. He had opened his hearts up many times and every one of his loves had died.
She knew there was someone out there that he wouldn't have to lose. She just had to get him to see it. She hoped the Doctor had the courage to open his hearts again. She tried to talk to him about it, but he wouldn't discuss it.

Clara decided to get the TARDIS to help her with her plan. She waited till the Doctor was meditating then asked his beautiful ship to take them to the one who could heal his hearts.

**********
The Doctor was a bit worried. Clara had been gone a long time, too long. It shouldn't take this long just to pick up her "unmentionables" as she put it. He was about to ask the TARDIS to scan for her when she drove in on her motorcycle.
"You're late," he snapped. He hid his worry with anger.
"I stopped to pick up a friend," Clara replied.
"Hello, Doc."

That voice! It can't be. Jack here? Why would Clara do this? This could only end badly after the way he had treated the Captain. "He must loathe me," the Doctor whispered.
"You had no right to bring him here without my permission, Clara!" the Doctor shouted without turning around. 'I don't want to see the hatred on his face,' the Doctor thought.
"You coward," Jack shouted back. Then the Doctor heard him sigh and say calmly, "Thank you for trying, Clara, but I won't stay where I'm not wanted."
The sound of the Captain's feet walking on the grating made the Doctor's hearts clinch. He should go ahead and let Jack yell at him, maybe take a swing at him. He owed the Captain that much at least. 'Time to act like a grown up.' The Doctor leaned against the nearest metal strut, took a deep breath, and swallowed hard at the lump in his throat.
"Jack… don't leave," the Doctor said barely above a whisper. Even to himself he sounded broken.

"Alright," Jack said softly.
The Doctor climbed backwards down the steps to the console level before turning around to face the Captain.

"So Jack… how've you been?"
"Better for seeing you again." Jack quickly stepped forward and the Doctor braced himself for the inevitable punch to the face. He wasn't prepared for what Jack did next.

As the Doctor tried to catch his breath he could hear Clara squealing with joy across the room.
********
Clara was walking passed the Doctor's bedroom the next morning on her way to the kitchen when the doors opened and Jack and the Doctor came out.

"Looks like you two buried the hatch," Clara quipped with a smile.
"Oh, we buried it deep," Jack replied with a smile as he continued dressing. "Several times, in fact."
"Jaaack," Doctor scolded through smiling clenched teeth. Clara just laughed and kept walking.
