CHALLENGE: Companions

Susan. Jamie. Ben and Polly. Jo. Sarah Jane. Romana. Leela. K-9. The Brigadier. Turlough and Nyssa and Tegan. Peri. Ace. Rose. Mickey. Donna. Martha. Amy and Rory and River. Clara. So many, many others.

And Jack.

John Hart. Owen. Toshiko. Gwen and Rhys. Martha. Esther and Rex. Alonso. So many, many, others.

And the Doctor.

This month, tell us what it means to be a Companion - to the Doctor, or to Jack. Or tell us what it means to have one. Orany. Or tell us what it means in terms of Jack an the Doctor and their relationship. It's a long road, but it's better with company, after all. Isn't it?

And as a gentle reminder, please don't crosspost stories for this challenge elsewhere until the challenge closes about one month from now.

You asked and we listened. We'll be revisiting some of our also-ran poll entries to give some great ideas another chance. (In fact, this month's winner was an also-ran!) But don't forget - leave a comment in THIS post that we can use for voting in our regular challenge polls
.

Soulmate-identifying marks. (I just discovered this trope the other day and am not sure what I think of it yet, but thought I'd throw it out there.)

Also, this is probably too specific to be a legitimate prompt, but does anybody else out there now want to see (or better yet, write) Twelve/Jack/Robin Hood? I feel like Jack and Robin would get along well (or maybe they already have!), and the rivalry between Twelve and Robin reminded me of "The Doctor Dances" at times. Plus, after watching Twelve tell Robin he can't be a human because his face is too perfect... well.
