None really.

Summary:
Two Jacks and a Doctor. It's a miracle the world hasn't blown up yet.

This is bad, the Doctor thought, spying Jack. Very bad. And he knew it was a Very Bad (and it definitely deserved capital letters) thing to be seeing Jack there (wearing glasses and holding a book, when was this?) because Jack was back in the TARDIS being sick. Well, sick might not be the right word. He’d come down with a sudden and inexplicable craving for, well, the Doctor really, and (to be truthful) the Time Lord was a bit afraid to go back in there. He’d already been jumped three times, each incident ending with long, tiring bouts of sex. And more sex. And sleep. And even more sex. Although he supposed it really wasn’t that bad, especially the way that Jack – no. He shook his head. He had to focus on Jack. This Jack, that is, not his Jack with the skilled fingers and dark eyes and no, he was focusing, he really was.

“Excuse me?” The Doctor jumped, yelped, and whirled around, all in one moveent. Jack (not his Jack, see the glasses, the glasses) paused, mouth open with his arm out to tap the Doctor on the shoulder.

“Sorry,” said Jack (oh, this was too confusing. This Jack was now Alternate-Jack), dropping his hand. “I just wanted to ask…”

“Yes?” the Doctor prompted gently, seeing how shy Alt-Jack was. (Really, when was this? How early in his life did it have to be for Jack to be acting this way?)

“In your lecture about the effect Alexander the Great had on the modern world? When you talked about religious beliefs, I had a few – well, not really questions, more like…  ideas. If you have the time, I’d like to discuss it with you. Especially because that’s what our paper is on.” Alt-Jack finished with a sheepish smile, trying to hide the hope on his face.

The Doctor frowned, checking his time sense. They’d forgotten Alexander the Great by the 51st century. Exactly when was this? Then all of what Jack said hit him. His lecture? He didn’t give lectures. He was the Doctor, not the Professor.

He sighed. Not another 21st century parallel world.

Alt-Jack saw his displeasure and (metaphorically) backpedaled. “Of course, if you’re too busy I could just, you know –”

“What? Nah,” the Doctor interrupted, waving away alt-Jack’s words. “I was just thinking. Don’t worry, I’m free for the rest of the day. Come on, walk with me and tell me these ideas of yours.”

“Alright John, I need you to trust me a bit here, ‘kay?” At Alt-Jack’s (John’s) nod, he grinned and bounced on the balls of his feet. “Great! Close your eyes for just a sec. Walk this way… there! You can open them now.”

And John did, opening his eyes to see the inside of the TARDIS. He stared in amazement.

“Where is this?”

“Well,” the Doctor started, holding up a finger. “It’s my space… ship. She’s called the TARDIS,” he rushed on before John could say anything. “I’m, well, I’m not really your Professor – Tennant, was it? – I’m not him, more like an alternate double him, you see, we fell through a hole in the Vortex and got stuck here although we really didn’t mean to and what are you – oh.” John had been staring behind the Time Lord for awhile now (Jack had walked out of the bedroom), and the Doctor had finally noticed. Poor John. Maybe he shouldn’t have brought him here. Humans were so delicate. He might have shocked him beyond recovery.

“Right.” He cleared his throat. “Jack, this is John. John, this is Jack. You two are alternate selves of each other.”

John blinked twice. “He’s naked.”

"What?” For a Time Lord, the Doctor sure could be slow at times. Not that Jack was complaining.

"Me,” he breathed in the Doctor’s ear. “I’m naked.” He pressed himself against the other man, bodily contact sparking all those nice pleasure centers in his brain. It was like the Doctor was a drug. A sex drug.

“Jack,” the Doctor moaned as a hand somehow wriggled its way into his trousers. “Don’t. We have – we have a guest.” His voice broke as the immortal man did something with his fingers.

Jack shot a look at John, standing wide-eyed with a rather noticeable bulge in his jeans. “I don’t think he’d mind.” He released the Doctor’s waist, gesturing at his other self. “I bet he’d even like to join in. Wouldn’t you?” He aimed at John.

“I–” John started, looking away guiltily.

“Jack, don’t,” the Doctor growled. Both Jacks shivered at the tone of his voice. “Leave the poor man alone.”

“But Doctor,” Jack rubbed himself against him. “Think about it. Two of us… with you… think about all the things we could do… And it’d feel really good…

The Doctor’s eyes rolled up in his head, a look of bliss overtaking his features as his imagination ran wild. Two Jacks…

“No,” he repeated, but with considerably less conviction than before. “I won’t take advantage of John. Not like this.”

Jack looked over again at his other self, standing with an agonized expression and waging an internal war. Their eyes met. He understood. This is what he would have been, had the Doctor never returned his advances, or if he was too shy to express them in the first place. It’s what John was, longing for his Professor Tennant but not able to have him. But even the likeliness of him would last him the rest of his life. John was head-over-heels in love, after all. So was Jack.

He communicated back with a raise of his eyebrows and jerk of his head, and John closed his eyes and nodded once before stepping forward. The clang of his footsteps on the metal grating echoed slightly.

“You won’t be taking advantage of me,” he said as he reached the Doctor. “But thank you for the sentiment.”

The Time Lord’s world faded into white-hot pleasure.

“Bye,” John smiled faintly at the two time travelers from outside the TARDIS doors. “Come and visit if you can.”

“I’ll see what I can do,” the Doctor promised. He reached out and cupped John’s cheek. “Take care of yourself, all right?”

“I will,” John said, serious. Then he ginned impishly. “No goodbye kisses?”

“We’ve turned you into a monster!” the Doctor laughed, nudging Jack in the ribs. The immortal smirked, proud.

“The good kind, though,” Jack shot back, stepping forward and kissing John (himself really, and this was narcissism wasn’t it?) long and deep. When he broke away both men were breathing hard. Jack stepped back and pushed the Doctor lightly forward to take his place.

Gentle fingers grasped his chin, and John’s head was tilted back slightly. He closed his eyes as cool lips met his own, mouth opening and tongues tangling. The kiss ended with him dazed and grinning goofily.

“Talk to him,” the Doctor urged John. “You never know until you try.”

Right then the college student could have taken on the world. “I will,” he promised again. “I will.”

“That’s my boy.”

John stood and watched as the TARDIS faded away, laughing a little bit in awe and a little bit so that he wouldn’t cry. He stood there for a little bit, staring at the space where the people that changed his life once were, then turned to leave. He spotted a man in a brown pinstriped suit.

“Professor!” he called, running towards him. “Professor Tennant!"

Did you accidentally leave your beta's notes in the posted version?

Now I want to know what happens with John and professor Tennant!

Loved this. I always thought the Doctor with 2 Captain Jack's would be yummy.

There are a lot of parentheticals that seem addressed to someone. For example:

"“Yes?” the Doctor prompted gently, seeing how shy Alt-Jack was. (Really, when was this? How early in his life did it have to be for Jack to be acting this way?)"

That's such a hot idea! I don't know whether you were right to leave the smut up my (sick) imagination or if it would have been nice to see a little more sex.

BTW, I loved the Doctor wondering about when the new Jack was.

sequel

This is a fantastic story, I'm a devout Dr{8/9/10/11}/Jack shipper and this was brilliant.

I really think you should try to make a sequel, with John {Alternate Reality Jack} telling Professor Tennant {Alternate Reality Dr} how he feels about him maybe with some added angst or added smex?

If you need inspiration try listing to music or looking at the world around you, it helps when I need inspiration for my stories.
