**

There's a coiling at the base of his spine, a tingling that he can feel against every part of him that so different for the normal, almost abrasive vibrations his last regeneration felt that for a moment he doesn't recognize the feeling is Jack. He lets the carefully woven strands of shimmering beads slide through his finger, puddling back into the tray on the vendor's stall, spinning back and forth on his heel; eyes half shut as he wanders away from the stall following the traces of the vortex buzzing in the air around him.

In retrospect, it would probably have been easier to follow the sounds of unrest. Jack literally runs him down, tearing around a corner with a laugh, jumping off a low wall over the head of a woman whose muzzle wrinkles back in a snarl as she screams in surprise only to stumble on his landing and crash into the Doctor, tumbling them both to the ground. Behind them the local law enforcement shouts for Jack to stop and surrender and the immortal man laughs as he rolls to his feet, reaching down and yanking the Doctor upright again.

“Run!” The cheeky old thing has stolen his line and he's drawing his breath to tell him so when a plasma blast sends sand and pebbles scattering up into the air at his feet. The addition of weapons fire has the crowd panicking; people and beings devolving from a gently milling mass to a surging distraction that provides a perfect screen for Jack to yank him into a run through sandstone and pressed-sheet ghettos and dead ends of the sprawling desert city until the whistles and warbling sirens of the police have long ago faded away. They spend more time ducking in and out of the dimly lit lower levels then they do running on the arid surface. They're down in the old prison blocks, back from when colonies were still terraformed and settled by forced labor. There are easily twenty planets in this part of the galaxy alone that have their own little literal sub-culture of the poor and abandoned driven below the surface, but this is the first time the Doctor has ever been under the street of Xel Aviv and it's nothing like he expected. The normal unkempt cart paths are kept graded down flat while bio-luminescent street globes glow whole and brightly as opposed to guttering weakly or just being outright shattered. The buildings are old and made of sub standard pressed plastic sheeting but they're at least standing and occupied while the mobs of children running through the street don't have the swollen bellies and hollow hungry eyes that come along with never eating enough. Some of the younger ones see the two of them running through the streets and call to Jack in shrill voices, waving hands and other appendages in the air over heads and eye-stalks but the older ones watch him silently, tracking him as far as they can without being obvious. The Doctor knows well the kind of messy revolution it takes to force these kind of areas into the safer, clean neighborhood he's being tugged through now and while he's never stuck around for the molding phase he's certain there are those who remember him with that same carefully blank expression in their eyes.

The building Jack pulls him into is no different on the outside than any of the others next to it, but the stairs leading up to the door are solid and the house is the long narrow shoe box style, rooms leading to room with no hallways. He lets Jack tug him through the door and kick it shut behind them, shaking down the voluminous white sun wrap twisted around his head and neck. Under the hood there's a hint of silver streaked through Jack's temples. If he had to guess based on looks he'd say Jack is perhaps five or six years older than the last time he saw him. If he guessed based on the vibrations of the vortex running through him he'd start just below a million and work his way back to it. It's staggering and whatever his last body found so wrong about Jack is gone, wiped out when he was reborn to a universe that had always hosted an immutable fact. Now the ancient thrumming of Time running through every atom of the immortal man is just something else that's already got him hard when Jack crowds him against the wall.

“Hello Doc.”

“How'd you know it was me?” His voice is impressively steady for someone whose twin hearts are pounding rabbit fast. Jack grins at him, flashes those bright teeth in a laugh and wraps wide hands around the back of the Doctor's thighs, lifting him off his feet until there's nothing to do with himself but twist his ankles behind Jack's back. The lines of their bodies fit differently now, slotting neatly together where before they crashed and bruised; if his tenth body remade itself to fit Rose Tyler this eleventh knows every rip and cut of Jack Harkness.

“You're wearing combat boots and a bow tie in 39/apple/928. The bow tie hasn't existed for half a million years now. Odds were good it was you.” They leave a trail of clothes scattered through the house, boots and trousers dropped across thresholds, shirts tossed over furniture until he's toppled backwards into the nest of cushions and pillows in the furthest room of the house. Jack's hand is large and rough from the sun and sand where it's wrapped around his cock, thumb flicking slowly back and forth across the already slick head. “Plus, this is only new to you.” Jack murmurs the words against his lips and the Doctors shivers and lets his legs sprawl wide with a grin. “You're so young still.”

“Only to you. Come on, do remember that we were on the run from the police not that long ago and since I don't fancy being arrest mid coitus, again, we should really get going on this.” He punctuates his words with sharp bites across the immortal man's shoulders.

“I deeply regret that I've never seen that, but it won't be happening today. I pay the law really well not to catch me.” His words slur into a moan as they rock their hips together, rutting up against each other. “I'll show you around later.”

The bed is perfect, pillows supporting his back just so when Jack sides down the Doctor's body and flicking his tongue across the satin soft head; swirling and lapping until the Time Lord has his fingers tangled deep in his lover's hair.

“Mmm. Later.” Jack's in a demanding mood and the Doctor sprawls and lets himself enjoy the way the plush of Jack's tongue is massaging up and down the underside of his shaft, working him fast and hard with a playful arch to his brow that promises slow and harder immediately after. “Oh, that's good.”

By the time he feels his orgasm curling tight around the base of his spine, they're scattered half the bed across the floor and he's perched on the edge of the platform, teeth sunk into his lip as he stares down at Jack, blue eyes wide and mouth tipped up in amusement as he parts his mouth and leans forward, lapping at the head with quick little flicks from the tip of his tongue that have the Doctor's thighs trembling under Jack's palms.

“Come on, I know you want to.” He does want to and it all he's been waiting for. Jack's already let his hands fall into his lap and lets the Doctor grab him by the hair, angling his face up until the head of the Time Lord's cock is smearing a fat line of pre-come across the immortal's jaw with every fast hard pull on his dick. For a moment their eyes meet and Jack winks once, opening his mouth just far enough to rest his tongue over his teeth. He's obscenely pretty with his mouth swollen red from sucking cock and when he comes with a shudder the hot white splashes of come that splatter into the side swept fringe and down over lashes looks just as good as it always does. Trembling knees keep him on the edge of the bed as Jack makes a production of wiping up his face and licking his fingers clean. “So, I never object to a visit, but how'd you find me this time?”

“Oh, the same way I always do.”

“So, accidentally?”

“Yep.” Jack shoves him ungracefully backwards onto the bed before climbing up with him. “No, I came a week ago. I remembered that this is the last year to see the Xel Aviv night blooming singing cactus’s festival. A cold war between the palace and the temples over the formerly Virgin Goddess who oversees the entire thing starts this week.”

“Virgin Goddess? About Five foot two, eight stone, lilac hair?” The slow dawning guilt in Jack's voice is almost enough to make the rapid hammering on the door downstairs funny. “So I may have lied about not getting arrested...”

Hah! That's a great ending. The whole thing is very well-written. I liked the bit about how how Jack wasn't wrong in the new universe, too.

thanks!

That is hilarious! Leave it to Jack to de-flower a Goddess.

It just seemed like such a him thing to do I couldn't help myself.

Sorry it took me forever to comment. I've been sick all month (still am).

This was a great fic. I think my favorite line was: "...how'd you find me this time?”

“Oh, the same way I always do.”

“So, accidentally?”

“Yep.”

Jack constantly getting arrested (lol) and bow ties not existing (that makes me a little sad).

This was wonderful. Thank you.

I'm glad you liked it. I hope you're feeling better by now. There was another story at first but I thought it kept getting to close to things on your 'no' list so I scrapped it even I though it was really good. It was a response to your OUAT prompt and 'fairy tale retellings' in your like list. I'm finishing it up anyway because I liked it and it'll be on my journal either Monday or Thursday (my days off) if you'd like to see the piece you *almost* got instead.

Thank you for this awesome fest! I love the universe rewrite from the pandorica because it's my excuse for *everything* now. It even works in real life so long as the person you're making your excuse to is also a Who fan.

Mmm, I love the dynamic here, which is kind of what I always wanted to see and yet never got in canon. Some great lines, too - I especially love this one: "whatever his last body found so wrong about Jack is gone, wiped out when he was reborn to a universe that had always hosted an immutable fact." Lovely idea!

I wish you'd taken the time to get this beta'd, because there are a lot of typos in it and a few sentences that could have done with a comma or two to make their meaning clearer, which threw me out of the story a bit as I had to go back and re-read. But there were some very nice ideas in it and some very amusing lines. I loved "I don't fancy being arrest mid coitus, again" too! :-)
ext_348818: Jack Harkness. (just jack)

This is hot and fun, but what actually impressed me most is your world-building. At some point, I'd love to see you do longer fic set in an alternate world, just to see what you'd do with it. :-)

I feel i can see this world you've described...and it's nice to see the Doctor and Jack fitting together so well
