I have to start by saying that I have a real, true, and pretty horribly bad phobia about parasites. Had therapy for it, even. To this day, the word still makes me shudder and I start breathing too hard. It's a bad phobia; I've had to adjust my life around it.

And yet, and yet I still read this -- because I love your Flowers 'verse so much and love these two characterizations of the Doctor and Jack, their voices, their interactions. And I loved this story -- it may even be helping me with my phobia! Yes, it was that good. The way you introduced it through Jack's POV, with his own misgivings about the worms, and his slow acceptance of them because of his trust in the Doctor and the Doctor's trust in how the worms would work -- it was the perfect way to handle the situation and bring in some pretty great science geekery into the alien!sex mix. <3

Flowers smut and phobia curing all in one evening. Life is good. ::squeezes [livejournal.com profile] dameruth::
