If you think about Torchwood series 2's finale, Jack's actually older than the Doctor at the moment...already, that's gotta be a comfort to a man capable of regenerating, so the idea of the Doctor loving Jack for his immortality as well as his personality always gets me going!
And yes...poor Doctor! (With only Donna left for him...oh dear...)
